What is Lead Generation?
I see lead generation as a critical business process. Most every organization that I can think of has to acquire new customers. Lead generation is:
"The use of marketing tools, devices, or techniques to generate leads to new customers or contacts"
So why do I feel qualified to write about the process to generate leads so you can generate more customers?
I started a call center back in 1992 (I am still writing about my call center knowledge).
For over 12 years, I was involved in hundreds of campaigns for our clients that involved generating leads for our clients. I also ran several internet companies and one of the revenue models that was often utilized was to generate leads through affiliate programs or directly.
So, I feel that I understand a little bit about the lead generation process. I also know quite a bit about different models of lead generation and what seems to work and what doesn't.
I hope to share those insights, plus current information and news about the process of lead generation. I hope you will share some of your knowledge with me or challenge some of my statements, or share an experience (good or bad) you have had with trying to generate leads.
Thanks,

Tim, I think people will find any hints or tips that will help them increase their leads to be most useful. In my industry, as is the case for all, if it wasn't for good life insurance leads, there wouldn't customers! It's all about getting the message out there ultimately and compelling people to act now, by picking up the phone, emailing, etc. Once we have a good lead, we can convert them into paying customers!
