
Did you know there's a middle man in the sales lead business? I was reminded of that fact as I unpacked a light fixture today for our daughters' bathroom. There it was at the top of the box: The product registration card.

Of course, the manufacturer of the light fixture doesn't really care that we "register" the product with them. But they LOVE it when consumers fill out the card and list all of their personal contact information, family income, and so on. Why? Because the can sell that information to a sales lead generation company. They, in turn, will sell it to other companies and retailers who want to market to our family based on our location and demographics.
It's valuable sales lead information for other retailers, and they use it. If you're a retailer or product manufacturer, you can use their customer sales lead information to your advantage...for a small fee.
