
George over at AdHurl has an interesting post about MySpace and YouTube, which are 1) frequented by the 15-24 year old market that is coveted by marketers, and 2) totally free - and, in some cases, don't even have any ads appearing on the web page.
That makes it tough to produce sales leads, doesn't it?
What's the future of sales leads if you can't advertise on those popular teen sites? Perhaps you should become a part of those sites - have a MySpace page, or start producing cool, talked-about videos that you put on YouTube.
Marketers need to realize that Web 2.0 means the rules of marketing have changed. Sometimes, plain old traditional ads as a form of sales leads just won't cut it. So, get with it and start participating in the new way of marketing yourself - by being original, and being cool.
