Even if you're not a big fan of the HBO series "The Sopranos", you have to admit that you've probably heard the buzz surrounding the series finale.
Will Tony get "whacked", or will he live?
I've seen two or three episodes here and there over their near decade long run, but I'm not somebody that's a die-hard fan of the show. Still, even I am sitting here wondering if Tony will survive or not.
Why?
All of the free media publicity that the series finale is generating. If you Google "The Sopranos" for news stories, you'll see that there are nearly 4,000 items that come up - and that's just in the last week!
Did that free media just happen? No. HBO brass made sure that entertainment media hyped the last episode, and helped them do it by suggesting story ideas surrounding the finale Sunday night.
So what's the point for you?
Your business can do the same thing to generate sales leads. Work the media: Suggest story ideas, give them creative angles on a new product launch, and use a blog to generate buzz among your customers.
"The Sopranos" works hard to generate one last bada-boom for their long running HBO series. You can do the same thing for your business.
