One of the other links that Brian recommended is worthy of a read today if you have a chance, and that is a post about writing long copy in your ads.  Very creative post...if you're a 1980's Joan Jett fan, it's a must read (and I'll leave it at that...)

They also point us to a post on mastering the anecdote in your sales copy.  It's a good one as well.
