I just went and picked up the Tudor Family's traditional Friday night pizza at the local restaurant.
It was sold recently to a new owner, and we've noticed some subtle changes...mostly good ones.
One of the things the new owners now allow is for local businesses to put a small stack of business cards in front of the cash register. A cheap way to advertise? you bet.
But you know what? I am sitting here surprised how effective it was. Its been a few hours since I went there, and I can still remember all of the businesses that left their business cards there: A printer, a realtor, a car dealership, an air conditioning repair company, and a pet groomer.
Isn't that amazing? And when you think of how many people pick up those cards and take them home and then actually use the services...well, its without a doubt a great (and cheap!) way to generate sales leads.
If you do it, make sure your business cards are first class all the way. You only have one shot to make a good impression, so think of your business card as a tiny billboard of yourself and your business.
